Galatians 2:20 – “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me”

What does it mean to “Wait upon the Lord?”

Isaiah 40:31 says that we should wait on the Lord, that our strength be renewed like the eagles. That we should walk and not faint.

To wait is to be entangled with the Triune God; Father, Son and Spirit, in this incredible tangible union. To SEE it. That it is in fact our eternal fixed reality NOW!

This is the the place of abiding. Braided together with Father, Son and Spirit. Where He goes, I go. Where I go, He goes. What He says, I say. His will is become mine.

We have become so closely connected, spirit to spirit.

We’ve been taught that we were to “Wait on the Lord” in a quiet, meditative state so as to hear. So as to move. And that’s all well and good, but often it becomes a repetitive, religious law to us instead of us living this spontaneous relational communion, moment to moment – regardless of having to set aside our daily happenings and/or sitting in solitude to hear.

Instead, we now live in covenantal relationship where it’s as easy as breathing. His breath is mine. Christ is living the life in me, as me. And the only law we live by is the law of love in Christ.

We still listen for the voice of our Beloved, but it has become easy, quiet whispers within, moment to moment in this relational entanglement with Father, Son and spirit.

What a far cry from the law that demands our getting “still” and “waiting” to DO. Now, we simply abide in abandon and surrender, living spontaneously from His life.
