Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you.”
The human is so fickle in that, if left to himself, he will try to “find his destiny”, what he was “born to do” in and of his own strength. Society perpetuates this when really, we are not an independent “I” to do and be apart from Christ, striving to achieve and grab life by the horns merely on ones own strength thinking he is actually on his own path with God. This is heresy, apostasy that says “I am an independent person, created to do great things, in and of myself.”
John 15:5 – “Apart from Christ, I can do nothing.”
The satanic lie from the garden was “You will be as God, to do and be independently.” To think independently, to act independently, to create your own destiny, self-for-self. When actually, from creation we were in union, in relationship with our Creator, walking hand-in-hand in the garden. The lie came in to deceive and derail all of mankind.
Even religion and the church teaches that we are to come up with our own programs, goals and decisions, life-long plans on our own with our human reasoning and intellect because “Isn’t that why God gave us brains?” But intellect and reasoning are most often “against-Christ” and the opposite of faith and living in relationship, trusting in Christ that He is leading us, moment to moment. This is a scary place for most of us.
I’ve learned over the years that the greatest thing is to lay down my plan, my goals, ideas and notions and simply surrender and abandon ALL. Saying, “nevertheless, Thy will be done, in me, as me.” And for THY pleasure, we were created. AHHHH, now I get it. And He, the Creator, is the creating force within that leaps forward in me to go, to do – as He instructs.
He says to us “It is our daily task to lay down all, to take up His all. To seek Him, moment to moment in all things. To be still and know (to know Him). Which in essence is “The Kingdom of God” – to know God, and Jesus, whom thou hast sent.” This journey to knowing Him comes about through the most unusual situations and circumstances, hardships and often difficulties; a pressing in, a hunkering down, a seeing through to Him only when you see quite the opposite. A total surrender and abandon as He becomes all in all (all situations).
The end is union with a LIVING God, Abba, Daddy. We are coming back into our realization of our being a son, this is union; forging into oneness with the Divine. This often doesn’t come about without difficulty and or extreme chaos and challenges to our frail humanity as our old ways of thinking, patterns are renewed, done away with and the Kingdom is brought, wrought about within us.
All we’ve known, thought to be truth, is totally disrupted. Oftentimes, we feel the pressures of this world begin to ruffle the surface of our soul, we feel the rippling of the water as we begin to feel anxious that we “need to be doing something more” instead of “being still and knowing.” Or resting in the Father. Perhaps in business, we feel we “need to create more business, get out and find the business, be more of a go-getter, have more drive, do this, do that.” Or in our homes, we need to “clean more, do more around the house, create more projects for ourselves, plan our next vacation, entertainment, get on our next diet, visit friends and family more” and on and on it goes.
But the Holy Spirit asks us to “sit in the silence with Him. Be still and know. Get away from the noise, the pull and quiet ourselves. To taste and see that He is good (it’s His nature). That “I Am, that I Am. That I Am, all you need in each individual moment. I Am all provision, more than enough for this day. I Am the way in, the way out. And as we wait with Him in the silence, He will direct our path. It will be easy. Restful.
